Upgrade motor to variable speed or replace entire pump?

I have a Pentair WhisperFlo 011773 WF-26 pump (manufactured 10/14/2011, don't know the install date). It has had the motor replaced at some point with a single speed US Motors EB854 1.5 HP 3450 rpm 60 Hz wired on 115 volt (only have 120 volt service to pump house). My pool is an in ground 40 x 15 ft rectangle, 4-5 ft deep.

I would like to upgrade to something variable speed in order to save electricity. Are there any variable speed motors that I can just swap out myself? If replacing the entire pump is necessary, are there any drop-in replacements to the WhisperFlo?

Thanks for the help.

We don't have an option for a 115v VS motor. However, we do have a dual voltage variable speed pump that is a drop-in replacement. Check out the Waterway PD-140. It's a 1.4 HP variable speed pump. The total HP of 1.4 is slightly lower than your 1.65 THP Whisperflo.
