I have a 10 year old Pentair Whisperflow WF-24 motor (part # 011772, 115/230V, 1HP, SF 1.25, RPM 3450) with bearings that are starting to make noise. I would like to replace it with either a variable speed or 2 speed motor to save money on electricity. Can you help me decide which makes the most sense and what are the appropriate part numbers?

Thank you for contacting Inyo. The most energy efficient option would be model ECM16SQU. The ECM16SQU is a 1.65HP variable speed motor. It does not require any additional accessories. It is fully programmable from the built-in control.
The 2-speed option is model B2982. This type of motor does not come with a switch. You can add a digital timer or add a toggle switch. The toggle switch is part number 2512558-001.
We recommend replacing the seals when you replace the pool pump motor. The seal kit for the Whisperflo is GOKIT32. Use GOKIT32SALT if you have salt water.
