I have a 16-gallon swimming pool in my home. We are going to New York for 6 months. I am really afraid about algae formation in the pool. There are chances of algae formation, especially during the closed time, So I was searching online for the measures to prevent the algae formation and thereby I found an interesting article about the safety measures that has to be implemented during the closed season of swimming pool, http://www.sleepwellsecurity.ca/blog/pool/have-a-pool-house-heres-6-things-you-need-to-do-to-keep-it-safe-during-the-off-season/. I thought to share here because it might be useful for many. Also, I would like to get your advice on the same. Is there anything that I should be focused on while leaving the pool closed.

Hello MaryLee - Thank you for sharing the information you found regarding the winterization of a pool. We have a similar article titled "How to Winterize Your Inground Pool". The process in that article is what we recommend when closing the pool.

We also have one for above ground pool owners.

Thanks for sharing the information. We are also planning to have a pool constructed very soon. It is quite an informative post that I can also prevent algae formation.
