we bought a used 24 ft pool  that was already dismantled.  I took the stainless panel to setup up on bottom rail anad noticed it had a skimmer outlet hole and 2 return inlet holes.  Can you tell me what the other hole would be used for  they are side by side

Hello Dougfisette - All of the panels I've seen have a cutout for the skimmer and a hole for the inlet. The second inlet hole may have been used for a light but i'm not 100% sure.
