Pool Vaccum

I am looking for an affordable pool vacuum and not sure how to buy.  I bought one which had great reviews at a big box store, but I am not having the same experience as the posters.  The vaccum I have is like attempting to vacuum the beach with a Swiffer wet jet.  It just is not doing a good job.

I have a 15x30 pool.  I need something with a long enough pole, because I cannot reach the deep end and one that has a large enough "spout" or whatever its called to vacuum quickly, not one with a small hole for vacuuming that takes long because it only cleans a small spot at a time.  Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi Diamond,

I would suggest this Pool Vac Head as we have had very good success with it, you will also need this Telescopic Pool Pole.

Thank You

Hi Patrick, it is an in gound pool, I do not know how to plug into the skimmer so a manual vac will work.  I have no idea if the pool is vinyl, concrete or fiberglass.  How would I know?

Sorry, I am new to having a pool and had a pool company taking care of maintenance until a couple of weeks ago.  I am looking to maintain myself going forward, if possible.

Hi Diamond,

Could you answer the following questions so we can suggest the best vacuum for you.

  • Is your pool an in-ground or an above ground pool?
  • Are you looking for a manual vac meaning you attach the vac to a pole and you do the vacuuming or do you want an automatic cleaner where you plug the cleaner into your skimmer and it automatically goes around the pool?
  • Is your pool a vinyl liner, concrete of fiberglass pool?

Thank You

Patrick
