Pool Cover

We recently purchased a pool cover.  Because of some permanent decorative landscaping I'm unable to use a pool reel to remove the cover.  As you can imagine, doing it by hand and putting it back on is a real hassle.

What I did to reduce the hassle was to build pool cover "panels".  As a result, only about 80-90% of the surface is now covered.  Will this make a meaningful difference in evaporation and heat loss?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi Gene,

I know the solar blankets can be a hassle to take on and off. No, you would not see a meaningful amount of heat loss and evaporation with only covering 80% - 90% of the pool.
