Pool base installation

We live in Hawaii,  We currently have a small 10' round above ground pool with salt water in our side yard and are now preparing to graduate to a larger pool with deck in our back yard.  Our lot steps down 5 feet in the back of our house.  Our idea is to place a oval 12 x 24 pool on the lower level of our lot and build a deck around it at the same level of the main lot.  The deck we are planning will be approximately 50 feet long, 14 feet at one end to 20 feet at the other end (with the pool on the wider side). The lower lot slopes down with a difference of about 1 foot from one side of the pool to the other, thus, we were thinking we would fill and pour a concrete slab to create a flat surface.  However, in one of the installation recomendations it says that an oval pool on a concrete slab will be too much of a headache (do to the center straps I'm assuming?).  Our options are limited.  The ground does not have much soil, and beneath it are large bolders. I could build a small wall on the low side of the area and fill it with rocks/gravel/soil, then sand?  Any suggestions?  Thank you, Rob

sp:  "Due" to the center straps, not "do"  thanks, Rob
