Hello Teddy - I would recommend a cartridge. Since they will catch finer debris, they do a better job at keeping the pool clear. Another benefit is that you don't waste as much water when cleaning the cartridge filters. A sand filter requires that you backwash it. You can lose several inches of water during this process.
