Impeller feels like sandpaper

While I was in the process of changing the pump seal the long motor bolts broke off inside the pump. I ordered a new motor.. I removed the pump head from the motor. The insides off the diffuser and pump impeller are extremely rough to the touch like sandpaper... how can I clean it out to make it smooth?

Hi Bickford,

If these items are rough to the touch then it indicates to me that some debris entered the pump like a pebble and damaged the impeller and diffuser as these items should be smooth. Could you supply your pump model information and HP and SF ratings, this will allow for me to make the appropriate impeller and diffuser suggestions.
