I need to replace my cleaner booster pump (Pentair Boost-Rite 1.1hp model LA-MS05). three questions?

1. is replacing this pump with a 1hp wisperflo single speed overkill? I need at 115/230V option.

2. I notice in the INYO Pools shop that there are multiple models of the wisperflo 1hp pump (different prices).  What's the difference? I've seen at least 3 versions:

a. 1 HP Full Rate (WF-24, part# 011772) for $499.99

b.  1 HP Full Rate (WF-4, part# 011580) for $509.98

c.  1 HP Full Rate (WFE-2, part# 011513) for $569.99

3.  Is a SuperFlo 1 HP a better option? I want the quieter pump, but have heard that the wisperflo may not be worth it.

I'd prefer to stick with Pentair products. I have an easytouch controller.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

You're welcome. Let us know how it turns out.

Ok, thanks Rob!

UNFORTUNATELY, this one is not very old -- new house and new pool of only 5 years, but think my pool contractor skipped a few steps on the install. Not sure the pump was I stalled NEW or correctly for that matter (pump appears corroded -- incorrect bonding perhaps). Will have new one professuinally installed, but wondered if I should upgrade while I was in the market.

1) We would recommend replacing the Boost-Rite Pump with another Boost-Rite. The booster pumps are designed differently than the traditional pool pumps. They provide greater water pressure over standard pumps.

2)

  • The WF-24 is a standard efficiency uprated 1HP Pump
  • The WF-4 is a standard efficiency full rated 1HP Pump.
  • The WFE-2 is an energy-efficient full rated 1/2HP Pump.

3) The Whisperflo is a much more quiet pump than the SuperFlo. However, We'd still recommend going with another Boost-Rite pump.
