Hello all,

I have an Aquacal heater that appears to be leaking from the top of the condenser. The water seems to be coming from a round piece that is covered in heat shrink and secured with a zip tie on the bottom. I will attach a picture for reference. I appreciate any help you may be able to offer.

Update. So I pulled the part and found the problem. A rupture at the bottom of the sensor well was causing water to leak up past the sensor. Obviously I'll be ordering a replacement, hoping you guys can help me locate the correct part. I am assuming I will need the grease as well. I have attached a picture of the model info.

In the interim. Would it be safe to use a thin layer of waterproof epoxy compound on the bottom where the rupture is? If so, what type of grease that goes in the well would I replace with.
With Labor Day weekend coming up I really need the heater operational and I don't know if the replacement part will arrive in time.

Looking to epoxy here.

Good Morning,

Hope you are doing well. You can use some epoxy to seal this to get you through the holiday weekend.

I cannot guarantee that the expoxy will hold under continuous water flow for an extended period of time.

The grease used in the well is plain mechanics grease that you can get from any autoparts store.

Thanks,

Robert Brown

Robert,

Thank you for your response. Could you confirm the part number I need is STK1113A?

Thanks again.
