Hi,

I just bought a house that has a Pentair WhisperFlo WFE-4 1 HP filter pump that I would like to switch to something more efficient.  I heard variable speeds are the way to go.. but b/c this is a dedicated line (filter only), could I just do a lower power motor?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Unfortunately, we do not have the variable speed motor in an almond color.

Thanks for confirming.  Do you happen to have the motor in an almond color?

Yes, you would require the ECM16SQU motor and the GOKIT32SALT tune-up kit.

Thanks Rob!

So to confirm, to move to a VSP with my setup (WFE-4), I should get the http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00200017074679.htm and the http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00101352069706.htm?

Thanks,

Scott

You could go with a 1.65 variable-speed motor or complete pump and it would still be more efficient than a 3/4HP running at full speed. The VS motor's energy consumption decreases dramatically as the speeds are reduced.

You can compare amp draws at different speeds using the Century V-Green Savings Calculator.
