I currently have a Hayward s200 sand filter and am thinking of switching to a Hayward cartridge filter. My pool is 16x32 and approx. 22,000 gal. My plumbing is 1 1/2 in. What cartridge filter do you recommend? I currently have a hayward 1 HP super pump. Will I be able to continue using this pump with the cartridge filter?

Mark, you can use your existing pump and Inyopools recommends the Waterway ProClean Plus 100 sqft Pool Cartridge Filter model PCCF-100 that you can view all details by clicking here.

I notice it has 2" plumbing and mine is 1 1/2". Will this still work and if it will how do I plumb it?

Yes, it sure will. You can use reducer fittings. Those are sold at any local hardware store.

Swtiching from sand filter to cartridge filter is a good choice, Pal. And thanks admin for confirming the pump model.

I switched from sand to DE 4years ago and I am very happy with my decision. I backflush, reverse and add 1# of DE to pump. Badabing-badaboom, done. The 50# box of DE from INYOpools should last me the rest of my life.
