Hello,
My Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro 1.5 HP model P6EA6F-206L motor recently stopped working. It powers a PEC2000 inground pool cleaner. It had started making a very loud noise like the bearings were going out but I waited too long to replace them and now it just hums and will not turn at all. When I removed the motor, I noticed what looks like a brass plated assembly that was fastened to the end of the back of the motor shaft had come appart. There are two springs on either side of this assembly and one of them had broken off and the part of the assembly that was held on by the springs had fallen off. Sorry for referring to this as an assembly but I have no idea what it is and cannot find a parts breakdown for the motor itself.
My Questions:
* Could the broken assembly be the reason the motor stopped working?
* Is it possible to replace this broken assembly?
* What would be my options for an energy efficient replacement for this motor?
Thanks in advance.
