The pump motor went and while I wait a week for it to arrive in the mail, should I put some sort of chemical in my stagnant pool?  It's green and I have an opening kit, but not sure what to do without the pump running?

Thanks in advance.

I would recommend adding liquid chlorine to the pool (2x-3x normal amount) . Stir up the pool using a pool pole and leaf skimmer. The pool water should turn cloudy white once the algae is killed. Then you'll have to wait until the pump is up and running before you can clear it up.
