My pool is being installed and one side will be mostly in the ground because of way area is. My question is when I back fill with dirt will it eventually rust or deteriorate the outside of the wall or am I ok.

Hello Kerry3154 - We would recommend checking the manufacturer's warranty regarding installation in the ground. Most of the manufacturers will void the warranty.
Our above ground pool specialist has been installing pools for over 30 years. He hasn't seen any evidence that sinking them dramatically decreases the life of the pool. He wrote an article about sinking an above ground pool. Check out that article and leave a comment on that page if you still have any concerns.
