Pool is 6 years old, 18k gallons, DE, and Salt. There are 3 things going on that may or may not be related. These did not all happen in the same year but gradually over the last 4 years.
1. A lot of DE goes into the pool. Every time I’ve either backwashed or cleaned the filter this happens and normally will stop. Although about 2 months ago I backwashed the pool and it won’t stop even after a cleaning one week ago. There were no tears or holes in the filter. Within 90 seconds of pouring the DE/Water mixture into the skimmer, cloudy water started showing up in the Spa.
2. Spa level drops every night anywhere from 3 to 10 inches even in the winter.
3. Sometimes when I rotate the Multi-port valve handle 360 degrees and put it back on the Filter setting, water will forcefully rush out of the backwash or discharge PVC pipe. Note: I always turn off the pump before moving the Multi-port valve handle.
I replaced the spider gasket and glued it into place, I even replaced the Multi-Port Valve. I also changed out ALL one-way valves and the O-ring on the lid of the Pentair Chlorine in-line feeder.
I have a Sta-rite 2” Multi-port valve Model 18201-0300 and a System3 filter model S7MD72. There doesn’t appear to be any leaks around the pool eqpt.
What next? I tried using a soapy water mixture to see if there are any leaks on the intake side of the eqpt but I don't see anything.
