Hello, I'm replacing a motor on a Hayward Tristar sp3215EE. The manual shows that the original motor was 1.5hp, with a 1.6 SF, equaling 2.4 THP. I haven't found a motor with these specs so far. 3 months ago this motor failed and was replaced with a Century 2HP, 1.1 SF, 2.2 THP motor. This pump doesn't even click after 3 months of service. I don't know if that's because of a faulty motor, incorrect motor selection, faulty installation, or somehow related to the Texas storm a couple weeks ago. Either way, looks like I need a new motor again. Is the 2.2 THP motor appropriate for this pump?

The correct replacement motor is part number 5112-256. That is a 1.5HP motor with a 1.6 service factor. Click Here to View More Details on the 5112-256 Motor
I believe your other motor failed prematurely because it was undersized for the original impeller.
