Recently received a quote for a 27' round 48 inch deep above ground pool. Being new to owning a pool, I need advice. This pool is going to cost over $20, 0000. Since I need to finance, it will cost double. Salesperson claimed recent studies show chlorine is causing cancer. This is scary for someone whose husband already has serious medical issues. My questions is concerning the pump. The claim is the ionization will be less costly than chorline & maintain better health. Is this a sales tatic or a proven fact? Furthermore, I was told a 52 inch deep pool cannot withstand the hurricane winds in Florida. Is the a fact? I am trying to deseminate bewtten sales pitches & facts.

First, I would recommend calling our customer support and getting a quote from us on an above ground pool. Call us at 407-834-2200 and ask for Megan. She is very knowledgeable on the above ground pools.

I've read some stuff about high levels of cyanuric acid potentially causing cancer. There is cyanuric acid in chlorine tabs. Here is a link to an article that discusses chlorination byproducts and a possible link to cancer. http://www.poolspanews.com/how-to/maintenance/studies-link-cancer-chlorination-byproducts_o

Ionizers are nice but they still require a small amount of chlorine. An ionizer system alone will not keep a pool clean throughout a Florida summer. You could get a salt chlorination system. It will generate a cleaner form of chlorine. You'll still need some cyanuric acid but it won't be as much as a pool that uses tabs.

I'll check with the pool manufacturer to see if they have any data on hurricane winds and pools. We'll reply back as soon as we get a response.

The manufacturer did not have any data available in regards to hurricane winds.
