I have a 20 year old pool that needs some TLC and a new spa light, currently incadesent and want to continue with this type until a complete renovation in a few years.

Could somone direct me to a great afforadable replacement?  I have attached images of my current non operational below.

For the standard incandescent light, you can use the Pentair SpaBrite series that you can view here. You would just need to confirm if you have 12 or 120 voltage at the light and the cord length that you will need. You can always cut the cord shorter if you need to purchase a light with extra cord.

Would the aqualight model work if I wanted to go halogen?  The sizing and voltage needs to be confirmed on my end.

Yes, the Aqaulight would work as well.
