I just installed a new Hayward 1.5 HP pump for my 30" above ground-and now I cannot vacuum my pool without the vacuum getting stuck to the liner.  What's my solution? Pump too strong? Need help asap as it is getting hot in Texas!

Perfect! Thank you so much! I found one and appreciate your help!

You could probably find one locally. Below is an example of what a regulator would look like.

I've also heard that you can remove a brush from the vac head and that will allow more into the head. This way the suction isn't concentrated in the center of the vac. I haven't tried this myself but it's worth a shot.

Is there just a standard one I can pick up at local pool store or need to order? I appreciate you very much! And love all the knowledge I have gained from this site and forums!

You wouldn't want to use one with wheels on a vinyl liner. It would cause similar issues that you're describing. Check out the bristles on your vacuum. The vac can stick to the liner if those are worn down.

If the bristles are ok, you may need a vacuum regulator. A vacuum regulator would plug into the skimmer and then the vac hose would plug into the opposite side of the regulator. The regulator could open up a little and let water in. This would take some suction away from the vac head.

Bristles, I don't think it  has wheels.  Would that help?  I just felt the pool needed more circulation and went up to 1HP.  All specs I read said that was appropriate for the size.

A 1HP pump would be creating too much suction. Does the vacuum head have wheels?

Oops! It is a 1 HP: Hayward SP1592 Above Ground PowerFlo MATRIX Pool Pump, 115V, 1 HP. Manual Vacuum to waste

We'd be glad to assist you. Are you using a manual vacuum or an automatic suction cleaner? What is the model of your Hayward pump?
