First time homeowner and first time pool owner here in NJ. The house I bought has a 15k gallon vinyl pool. Pool inspector said the pool is in great shape, well maintained etc. it was closed when I bought the house in December.

anyway, I've purchased the circupool edge 25 salt Chlorine generator to convert the pool to saltwater (hopefully myself). I was wondering when the best time to install it. Do I have to wait until the pool is opened and running? Can I install it now and start running it once the pool is open? I wasn't sure if I'd be able to test the power, plumbing etc if I install it now before the pool is open.

thanks in advance!

Good morning. I would probably recommend installing in the spring when the water temperature begins to be more consistent over 60 degrees. When the water becomes too cold most systems will not generate chlorine so no real need to rush to install it.

Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering if it was possible to do the install now before the pool is even open since I have some free weekends now compared to in the spring

Technically yes you can, however, may not actually generate chlorine due to low water temperature if your swimming pool is not heated.
