Just opening my pool (28,000 gal. ingound salt-water, gunite pool).  Got the numbers uo where they are good execpt my CI is always low, salt is good after adding 400-lbs.  The problem now is that my TDS is at 5500!!!  What do I do besides draining the pool??  Thank you! Angelo

Thank you!!

I was about to pull the plug.  The water is clear and the salt is good, ph is good, orp is 490, CI is low though.  the gunite looks like crap but it has always since we bought the house.  Needs to be re-done.  I will wacth the numbers more and more.

It's common for salt pools to have a high TDS level (5000 ppm or higher). I wouldn't be overly concerned unless the pool is staying cloudy or you're having an issue keeping a good chlorine level.

The only way to lower the TDS level is to drain some water and add fresh water.
