My Sta-Rite MPRA6E-147L just died and it appears a replacement motor is necessary. Can you tell me if I can buy a 1.5 or 2.0 HP motor and install exactly the same as if it were the original MPRA6E-147L? I might want to add solar heating panels in the future and I understand the additional HP might be necessary. However, I only want to replace the motor and the entire pump assembly.
Sta-Rite MPRA6E-147L upgrade possible?

Yes, you can upgrade to a 1.5HP or 2HP motor and use the same pump housing. You'd have to upgrade the impeller and diffuser if you increase the HP. Check out the motors and parts on our Sta-Rite Dyna-Glas parts page.
