If I replace a pump motor do I also have to replace the bearings or is that a separate task. The pool company wants to charge me $500 to replace a motor and seals.

Hello Jason - If you replace the pump motor, you will not need to replace the motor bearings. The motor bearings would only need to be replaced if you are attempting to rebuild the old motor.
You would want to replace the pump seals when you replace the motor.
