My Spa / Pool Heater just began to shut off at 97 degrees. SPA temp is set to to 102 degrees. Is it the High Limit switch malfunctioning or is it the Temperature sensor? It is a Teledyne Laars Lite 2 400 BTU. Replaced a leaking pressure switch 2 years ago. That does not seem to be the cause. Works fine up to 97 degrees and shuts itself off.
I intend to relace parts.. which should I try first? any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have not seen that designation in any description of this Heater. It is natrual gas, made in 2003, 400 BTU, Teledyne Laars, model
There are two high-limit options for that heater and either one will work. The first one is rated at 135° and the part number is R0022700. The second one is rated at 150° and the part number is R0023000.

I purchased and installed the High Limit switch. It had two sensors like the original. Unfortunately, it did not fix the problem. Now instead of the Gas Heater shutting down at 97 degrees, it shuts down at 95 degrees. Gas flow is being turned off by one of the sensors. I guess it could be the temperature control assembly itself. Any suggestions?

Is your temperature control digital or is it manual knobs? Could you take a picture of your temperature control and post a photo.
Manual. Two knobs. I also have a remore key pad inside the house to set the Spa or Pool Temperature. I never have to touch the outside Temp Controls. I just leave both full on. Remore control stops the heater when the set temp is reached (103 for spa). That is how I know the temp is excatly 95 degrees when the gas is cut off. I am not near the heater to send apic at this monent
