I am digging up the line from skimmer to pump to replace all the elbows to make sure the line is completely clear and hopefully stop the air that is currently in the line. I started at the skimmer and already I found a leak. I think it's coming from where the pipe connect to the skimmer but the problem is there are two black metal rings around the skimmer box that are in the way of me getting to where it connects. Does anyone know what these black metal rings are for and can I cut them out of the way if needed?
