I replaced my shaft seal and when I hooked it all back up.  I went to turn it on and it would not turn it hums but not turning any suggestions to what I did wrong.  Any advice would help it’s a Hayward power flo LX pump.

Thanks

Melissa

I am unaware of a way to make it work. You can add liquid chlorine to the pool and move it around with a pool pole. That will keep the pool from turning green while the pump is down.

3-7 days if you select ground as a shipping method.

How long do you think it would take to get

Yes, the part number is 5111-03. Click Here to Purchase the Shaft Seal

Do you know where I could get the one I need

InyoRob posted this 05 August 2020

Yes, it could. Maybe the spring has lost its tension and it is allowing the impeller to thread further down the shaft.

I thought I did but I didn’t change the spring portion could it be wore out?

Do you have both parts of the shaft seal installed correctly?

I checked it the impeller it was hand tight but I turn it on with that off and the shaft ran fine I put it back on and it ran it looked like the impeller tight up to the housing and then the shaft stopped

I’ll check that thanks again

Melissa - It's possible that the impeller was overly tightened. Some of the Power-Flo motors have a capacitor and that could be bad. It could also be wired incorrectly or with the wrong voltage.
