what would guys recommend for a automatic cleaner for a kidney shaped pool? I don’t have any pool hook ups for some of the cleaners...so maybe a corded unit that is self sufficient?

We'd recommend the Aquabot Classic or the Hayward TigerShark. These are robotic pool cleaners that work independently from your other equipment. Both units are very durable and dependable. We rarely see an issue with either one.
