A day after I vacum there is dirt in the bottom the very next day, could there be something wrong with the filter?

Hello Anita - Thank you for contacting Inyo. Do you have a multiport valve? Do you run the valve on the rinse mode after you backwash the filter?

What is a multiport and yes I do rinse after back wash.

The multiport valve is used to switch from filter to backwash. If you rinse and are still getting sand, you may have a broken lateral or standpipe in the filter. What is the make and model of the filter?

i have this same sandy dirt problem. I had my sand filter (HAyward Model S310T2) rebuilt and the sand replaced last fall and i still have the problem. They found a cracked lateral and replaced. i thought this would fix the issue but it did not. Where else should i look.
