I recently noticed (for the first time) quite a bit of sand in the backwash. Have not noticed sand in the pool.
We had the sand replaced about 2 years ago, and I have not noticed this before.
Is this normal, or does it indicate some problem with the filter?
Hello Richard - Thank you for contacting Inyo. After you backwash, do you run the filter on "Rinse" mode? Running it on Rinse will help prevent sand from getting through after a backwash.
Also, check the spider gasket in your multiport valve. The gasket needs to be replaced if it is crimped or damaged.
