Hello guys. I have a problem with my pool, Pool water is clear but the walls, steps, and floor looks like rust. I think it is algae. It will not rub off. I put in Yellow Out, shock, algaecide 60, 6 gallons of bleach and nothing seems to work. Also cleaned the filter.

Now I am lost all of this was over 2 week period. Any suggestions? Thank you for any info.

Hello Anthony - We'd recommend trying to identify the stain. First, you can try using a chlorine tab, Wearing a glove, try rubbing the chlorine tab on the stain. If the stain lightens, you know it's organic and it can be treated with more chlorine.

If the chlorine tab doesn't work, it's likely a metal stain. Hold a vitamin C tablet against the stain for 30 seconds and see if the stain lightens. If it does, you have iron stains and the pool can be treated with ascorbic acid. If it doesn't work, you may have some other type of metal stain. At that point, we'd recommend trying a stain ID kit.
