I have a very old single skimmer 36,000 gal. pool using a Hayward S200 filter that needs a replacement pump. What are my best options?

We would recommend the PureLine Prime model PL2606. This is a 2.7HP variable speed pump.

Wow! That's a huge jump from the P2R 1.5hp that was on it. Was it underpowered before?

If it worked sufficiently, it wasn't undersized. We also offer a 1.65HP variable speed pump. The model number is PL2605.

Thanks for the help. Now that I think about it there were times when the pump had trouble priming. I attributed it to older pipe connections allowing air in but the pump may just have been underpowered. Thanks again.

I need to replace my old Hayward single speed pump and am considering the PureLine Prime PL2606 variable speed pump. But is this too much pump for my 5000 gal pool with one waterfall feature?

The PL2606 (2.7HP) wouldn't be too much because you can run the pump at lower speeds.

Another option would be the PL2605, which is a 1.65HP. We are currently out of stock but should have more next month.
