My pump is leaking around the metal band. I have a Pac/Fab Challenger. I have replaced the housing gasket but I am still not able to get it to seal. It is not leaking around the shaft as I can tell this is pooling in the metal band. What else might I replace, could the housing have a small crack?
Hello Michael - I would try installing the housing gasket one more time. Use some silicone or teflon lubricant on the gasket. As you are tightening the clamp, tap the clamp with a rubber mallet. This will help get a better seal.
If that doesn't work, you may have a crack in the seal plate or front housing. All of these parts are available on our PacFab Challenger parts page.
