I have the hayward 11/2 superpump . ihave 11/2 plumbing . the current superpump does not give near enough action in spa. i wanted to go with 2.7 variable speed motor. also in future may be changing plumbing to 2inch.. also may be adding water features.I dont want to left short on power , would you recomend the 2.7 variable speed motor.. tnhks ted (27,000 gal pool)

We would recommend the 2.7 VS motor since you need additional flow for the spa and water features. The part number for the replacement motor would be ECM27CU.

You'll want to increase the impeller size. The 2HP impeller is part number SPX2615C.

We also recommend replacing the seals when you replace the motor. The seal kit for the Hayward Super Pump is GOKIT3. Use GOKIT3SALT if you have salt water.
