I get a lot of sediment on the bottom of my pool, even after I vacuum it.

Hi RandyMass,

I have a few questions... Do you have an inground pool or an above ground pool? What type of filter do you have, sand, cartridge or DE? What does the sediment look like on the floor of your pool?

Thank You

I have an above ground pool with a new sand filter and pump. The sediment is very fine and kind of dissolves when I stir it up with my hand. I'm on a well so when I add water it is "hard water". I add a chemical that is supposed to help eliminate scale when adding hard water to the pool.

Hi Randy,

It is really important to get good water test results. Can you please post your water chemistry results here and that would give us a starting point to determine what is going on.

Thank You

Is it difficult to transform a chlorine pool to a salt pool with a cartilage filter system?

May be that the sediment is to fine for the sand filter to remove and continues to be recirculated. I also have this problem from time to time. You cou try putting a fine filter bag in the skimmer to determine what is collects. There are also additives that help filtering by making the sand sticky. Hope this helps.
