We purchased the Century B2661 pool motor from you in 4/2019, and two days ago, after only 21/2 years it died.  The impeller spins freely, and the motor starts, but it gets extremely hot almost immediately and shuts off. We replaced the capacitor, but it did not solve the problem. We also checked the voltage to the motor and to the capacitor and it is fine.

Unless you can suggest a solution, we think we need a new motor, and we'd like to upgrade to 1HP (10,000 gallon in-ground pool). We prefer not to buy another Century motor. What do you suggest?
