Pentair 120Q Whip Gage Size

 Hello:   I am installing a Pentair 120Q Heat Pump (460833).   The manual calls for a 50 amp breaker,  which I have ready to go in the pool equjipment sub panel.  (The panel was pre-wired for a heat pump later).   What gage size for the wire in the whip ?   Nr 8?     Thanks!   Dave

Yes, 8 AWG is typically used with heat pump installations that require a 50 amp breaker. Good luck!
