I have a 8 year old Jandy pool stealth 2 hp pump. When I turn it on it starts and stops immediately. It spins the shaft without any problem. It continues doing this every minute or so. I have checked the capacitor and replaced it, but that doesnt change the behaviour.
Time to replace the motor or are there any other fix to do before that?

Thank you for the email! You will require this 193990 Jandy Stealth Two Speed Replacement Motor the motor I suggested is a 1.5 HP Full Rate motor which is identical to your 2 HP Up Rated motor. You will also need this Jandy Stealth Shaft Seal when you do the motor replacement.
