I'm looking to upgrade are HSQ165 1.65hp Century/Hayward pump motor to a two speed motor that can be controller thru the e-command 4 panel. Any suggestion on how to do this and which motor would be best.

We have a 10,000 gallon salt water pool/spa in SW Florida. Aquarite SWG.

Hi Phillips,

Could you post a few photo's of your pump and motor, so we can suggest the proper replacement? Do you have a Hayward Tristar Pump?

Thank You

Thanks Phillips,

You would require the UQS1152R 1.65 HP Dual Speed Hayward Tri Star Replacement Motor this motor can be controlled by your E-command but will require an additional Hayward E-Command Relay. The Hayward E-Command 4 can handle 4 relays and when the system was installed it should have come with 4 relays, it is just a matter if you are using all 4 relays or if you have an extra one not being used. The two-speed pump requires one relay to turn the pump on and off and the second relay is used to switch between high and low speeds. When replacing your motor you will also want to replace your Hayward Tri Star Shaft Seal. I hope this helps and if you have any questions please let us know.

Thank You
