I've got a question about the internal piping assembly of my Hayward C5030. I was performing the usual filter maintenance when I noticed a small leak (at the internal piping elbow) inside the Hayward filter. Is this by design and supposed to be there or should I replace the elbow?

That hole as shown in the assembly diagram is intentionally placed in this pipe. During priming of the pump and filter, it allows air to bleed-out of the effluent water path, but due to resistance will not allow unfiltered water to exit the tank.
