I have a CL200. in line chorine feeder.  Have ordered a new flow control knob, in case I need it.  It is 26 years old. I have only used it for my chlorine for the past two or three years.  Had a salt generator for years but no more.  I would like to know if there is an easy way to tell if the control knob is working.  My pool is only 4000 gallons, so I need to keep the dial very low.  It seems my CL level is always very high.

So a standard chlorine tablet is usually good for approximately 5,000 gallons of water. With that said you can turn the dial to about 7 and your chlorine level should maintain a level of around 4-5 or higher in a week if the water is cold and since the CYA is high. The tablet should also be mostly or all dissolved at that point.
