Dedicated Automatic Pool Vacuum Inlet?

Hi all,

Our above ground pool is surrounded by trees so we are constantly vacuuming, and it's become a burden keeping it clean. We would like to be able to have something crawl on the bottom vacuuming debris, but we only have a skimmer on the filter inlet. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with these automated vacuums, and should I consider adding a dedicated vacuum inlet to the pool? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey Aido62,

An easier option would be to get Robotic Vaccum Cleaner like this one here:

Dolphin E10 Automatic Robotic Pool Cleaner with Easy to Clean Top Load Filter Basket Ideal for Above Ground Swimming Pools up to 30 Feet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BUE8XVC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_X51oFbNP7NAS5

Not only would it be easier ( no adding inlet needed) but it does a whole lot nicer job at cleaning pools. It has its own debris filtration system so no changes need to be made to the pool system.

I agree with the post above. I would recommend going with a robotic cleaner designed for above ground pools. They are better at collecting leaves than the suction style cleaners because of the larger throat size.
