Hi,

Yesterday I opened a discussion about choosing the correct pool pump motor and got in trouble uploading pix at Robs request. I ended up deleting the whole post (instead of just the pix). Anyway, I'm trying it again...

My issue is I have a US Motors pump motor and I need to replace it and wanted to insure I get the correct one..

Thanks,

Bill

The replacement motor would be model B842. We would also recommend replacing the seals when you replace the motor on your Whisperflo pump. The seal kit is GOKIT32. Use GOKIT32SALT if you have salt water.

Hi InyoRob,

Actually I'm researching to see if I have what it takes to replace the bearings myself. If I can raplace the bearings then the cost would allow me to do the same on my other noisy pump motor. (Polaris booster pump.) I am looking at videos for my whisperflo to see if Ihave what is needed.. If I think I can I wil place an order here for both. Never tried raplacing the bearings on either before..

Thanks,

Bill

Check out our videos below. We don't use a Whisperflo pump but the steps for replacing the pool motor bearings are very similar.

Thanks Rob,

Sorry so long to respond... Checked the videos and learned alot. But think I am going to order the pump motor... and the kit...... Probably do that in a day or two. Thanks for all the info and help.

Hey InyoRob,

I just gotta say. I ordered my replacment pump (you recommended) on 9/24 and got it on 9/25... I am amazed!!! I installed it 9/26 (along with the gokit you recommended) and I cannot believe how quiet it is... i thought something was wrong when i powered it up because it was soooo quiet. You made this too easy for me and I appreciate that. Anyway, my next task will be my PB4 Booster pump motor. When I get time to really check it out...

Off topic question. Do you recommend taking the Polaris out of the pool when I cover the pool for fall/winter? (i'm in North Texas)

Thanks,

Bill

We're glad to hear everything worked out well for you. Yes, we would recommend removing the Polaris when you close the pool. Hose the cleaner off with fresh water before you pack it away.
