What size capacitor do I need for a Hayward Northstar (A O Smith) 1.5 hp full rated motor

If it hasn't been completely distroyed, it says it right on the capacitor .

Im showing that the Northstar 1.5 HP full rate Motor uses this 370V MFD RD-35-370 Capacitor We put together a Video on How to Replace a Pool Pump Capacitor which you may find helpful.

Do you happen to have a list of what capacitor goes to what motor? Are they not standard to their motor?

There are a number of different motors and each may have a specific capacitor for it. The best way to identify the correct capacitor is to take the information right off of the capacitor.

I saw the vid, but was hoping that there would be a list of capacitors used for specific motors. I have customers calling and asking, and the ease of a list would halp. If there isn't one, then it is what it is:-(

Question: how were you able to find the capacitor used for the northstar when the capacitor was unreadable?

Hello PoolNut - We were able to pull a 1.5HP full rated Hayward Northstar motor and inspect the specifications on the capacitor. That is how we matched it up with a replacement.
