I have just restarted my pool with fresh water. It is 15,000 Gal. and in-ground. I started by putting 400 lbs of salt in. The reading was 2200 ppm. I have since added 320 more ibs. at 48 hour interval. It is now at 2500 ppm. Something I am doing is wrong, it should not require this much salt and 300 lbs should have raised it to my desired 3400 ppm. Any thoughts?

Hello Walter - How are you testing the salt level? Are you getting the reading from the salt system control panel? If so, it may be giving you an incorrect salt level. The system may need to be recalibrated or the salt cell may need to be cleaned/replaced.
We would recommend taking the sample into a pool store to get an accurate salt level reading.
