Good evening. I have an above ground pool. I have bought a 1.5 hp pump because the pump that comes with the pool is substandard (from previous experience with this pool). It is a purline pump. Does this pump need to be grounded/ bonded? I only know this lingo because my brother is an electrician. Would it help if I included a picture?

Does the motor have a pigtail on it (that you plug into an electrical outlet) or is it hard wired?

If it is a 3 pronged plug, it will need to be plugged into a grounded electrical outlet. If the plug only has 2 prongs, the electrical outlet should still be grounded.
