My pool has an in-deck Leaf Vac (A&A Mfg) and the guides which hold the lid in place are cracked.  I have a Stop Ring (which A&A advised as a fix with the directions "glue it in place") but do  not believe it will sit low enough to hold the lid correctly.

Anyone else face this?

I decided to repair the broken guide.  I laid a beam of marine-grade epoxy along the top.  Next, I cut about a 3" section from an A&A Stop Ring (designed for the internal portion of the Leaf Vac).  I glued the piece immediately above the guide thereby adding more reinforcement to the guide.  After allowing the glues to set for 24 hours, the Leaf Vac lid is holding in place.

This repair is to the in-deck version of the A&A Manufacturing Leaf Vac.  This product is no longer made as an in-deck product.  It is available as an out-of-deck option.Leaf Vac after repair
