I need to replace a pentair pinnacle 342854 and housing 17 77474 01. I already tried replacing just the motor with the right AO replacement, but I think I did something wrong in assemby, particularly with the spring-loaded thing (not really covered in the videos) and it was straining from the beginning, then sounded like a bearing was gone, then seized or otherwise stopped working after about a day. I think I will just replace the whole pump, but would like to get the most compatible 1 hp one that will also not require much adjusting of pipes (1.5"). I've already oredered the Power-Flo II 1 HP 1-Speed Pump - SP1780 W3SP1780 but am having second thoughts that it is the right one, or at least acceptable. Any better advice on which model to replace without breaking the bank, since I've already sunk $200 on the motor that I apparently didn't install right? Thanks!
