I've got a 20 x 40' in ground rectangular pool, with an automatic safety cover.  Here in Atlanta, when we get torrential rains, it can take my pool cover pump a few hours to clear off all the excess water.  I've noticed that the day after a really heavy rain (when my cover has been on) I typically will lose 1-3 inches of water inside the pool.  I had the pool checked for leaks recently by Aquarama and they could not find anything.  Is there a chance that the excess weight of the water on top of the cover is pushing "up" the water level within the skimmer to a point above the normal operating level where it leaks out?  Anyone else had this issue?  Other thoughts on what might be causing it?  Thank you!
